Rallying in WA is held mostly in forestry plantations on gravel roads with a crew made up of a driver and co-driver.
WA Rallies are split into two Championships, the WA Rally Championship and the Clubman Cup.
The WA Rally championship (WARC) decides the outright state champion driver and co-driver as well as champions for different vehicle classes and a rookie award for beginners.
The Clubman Cup is for drivers seeded below 0.9 on the WA seeding list and only those in 2 wheel drive cars are eligible.
The WARC events consist of approximately 8 special stages that total anything from 100km to 150km of competitive stages with the Clubman Cup event being half of the WARC event.
For beginners there are smaller single venue events that can give you a taste of rallying. These are called Autocross's and Khanacross's.
These are held on a short gravel circuit of approximately 1 kilometre with most events giving drivers several runs over the day or evening.
The vehicle safety & eligibility requirements are very relaxed compared to normal rallying to allow for standard cars to be used. A co-driver is also not required.
