2010 Lewana Stages Rally
This years Lewana Stages Rally will be based entirely out of the town of Balingup.
Servicing and the event start will be held on the Balingup Oval and crews will return to this point on three occasions.
There is no access to the oval for trucks and these will be required to park off Walter St at the rear of the oval.
Rally HQ will be at the Balingup recreation centre located adjacent to the service park.
All documentation, event notice board and results will be based at the Balingup recreation centre .
A presentation of trophies will be held at the Balingup recreation centre following completion of the event.
The recreation centre is licenced. The organisers of the Lewana Stages rally promote safe drinking practices.
Competition will be based around the old Grimwade townsite with spectator points located on stages 2 and 3.
Crews also return to these points on stages 6 and 7. Both points are spectacular turn hard rights off high speed approaches.
The event will be 4 stages run twice for the state competitors and the first 4 stages for the clubman.
First car will leave the start at 11.30am.
Stage lengths vary from just over 5km's to around 23km's with a total length of competitive stages of 123 km for the state and 61.5 km for the clubman.
There is one new stage and two of the other stages are run in reverse direction from previous years which will add to the excitement.
Road conditions are excellent and there is a wide variety of road types used varing from tight twisty technical sections to fast open high quality roads
so their should be something for all competitors.
The rally HQ, presentation, service park and spectator point are all smoke free venues.
The organisers are asking competitors for assistance in obtaining road closures for the event and there is a nomination form included in the event regulations
that can be sent to the officials coordinator. If you know someone that can help please let us know as in the end you are helping yourself. No prior
experience is required to be a road closure and an information pack will be provided to explain duties etc.
