Chairman’s Award Recipients Contribution to RallyWA
2023 John Travis John has been involved with rallying in WA for 35 years and has been part of Team Hotel since 1989, being their Stage Commander on 55 events from 2005 to 2022. Towards the end of 2012 he was invited onto the WA Rally Advisory Panel where in 2013 he took on the role of managing the WARC Seeding, and in 2015 added managing the WARC Points Tables, until the end of 2023. John has also been managing the Seeding for the ARC since 2013. In recent years he has also assisted many event organisers with their running schedules and timecards preparation. John has provided an outstanding service to the sport that is appreciated by everyone.
2022 Team RAP Beth Hastie, Jason Humble & Lisa Humble. Last year and this year they have done every event as TC0/Regroup/Parc Ferme bringing consistency across the events and the car clubs. They have had to deal with competitors and officials through rain and shine, with Jason and Lisa learning the role as they work with Beth. As a team, they had to deal with flexi service for the first time at Bakers Hill this year and the final stage being cancelled at Karri and they’ve taken it in their stride.

2019= Team Hotel Team Hotel started as the 8th Stage Team for Rally Australia in 1989 and picked up the title of Team Hotel. 30 years later they are still providing a service to RallyWA and Targa Events, not only do all the Controls and SOS points on their Stage but also quite often providing Road Closure Officials. They have provided an outstanding service to the sport that is appreciated by everyone.
2019= The Harmer Family The family behind the Onslow Contracting and Zestino Tyres naming rights sponsorship of the series from the 2015 season to the 2019 season.
2017 Bob Knight Bob has been the backbone of the West Coast Car Club for well over 40 years designing a radio network that can be used on all events at any location. He also maintains the radio and repeaters and seeks approval for repeater locations.
2015 Kim van Keule Kim is the RallyWA Chaplain and has supported the emotional side of our sport when competitors, service crew or officials require it, in particular during the major accident in Donnelly River in May 2015.
2012 Jim Wilcox Jim has provided RallyWA with over 40 years of service, initially with the radio network and then designed and built an electronic timing system, one of the first in the world.

Encourage Participation in Rallying Recipients Pink Panther Trophy
2023 Tim Hiles With a DNF on the first event of the year, then major front-end damage almost putting him out of the Forest Rally, and then another DNF on the Safari Rally with major rear-end damage, Tim had a challenging year. With encouragement and support from his fellow competitors and their service crews working on his car late into the night he was able to rejoin the Forest Rally, and also repair his car in time for the final rally of the year and was able to secure second place in his Championship Class.
2022 Glenn Alcorn For his commitment to getting out and competing, and his never say die attitude. Despite all the challenges of the year, he found a way to be out there, competing and having fun.
